EUGENE DESTOUNIS COUNSELLING
Counselling isn't about being 'fixed', it's about practising vulnerability, facing fears and
challenging obstacles
while receiving empathy,
and understanding.
1
Compassion, Passion and Understanding
In each counselling session, I show compassion and understanding to my client's struggles and I give passion to what matters to them.
My Approach
A holistic and tailored methodology designed to foster lasting healing and personal growth.
2
Therapeutic Style
I keep my eye out for small and large traumas in clients, as these almost always underpin mental illness, especially attachment trauma. I utilise Person-Centered, Narrative, Imago, Internal Family Systems and Gradual Exposure Therapies.
3
A Safe Environment
I provide a non-judgmental and confidential space, allowing you to explore your deepest thoughts and feelings with trust.
About Me
Hey Eugene here, thanks for checking out my page. Here's a little about me - I'm currently living outside of Clevedon, Auckland on a horse ranch. I'm a husband who enjoys bush walks, riding horses, having fun with friends and family, cooking and serving my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. My approach to therapy is relationship-focused, meaning I prioritise building my clients' and my relationship. Human beings are hurt in relationships, therefore, we are also healed in relationships. When we feel safe with someone, we are more likely to be vulnerable, which is important because vulnerability is the key to psychological healing.
